How to Send an Abaya as a Gift in the UAE

Sending an abaya as a gift should leave room for your own words. At Rima Atelier, you can add a complimentary handwritten note to your order, choose whether to sign it, and have the parcel sent to you or to the person receiving it. Every abaya arrives wrapped, with no invoice or prices inside the parcel.

The gift option is called This Is a Gift. You will find it on the bag page, just above the total. This guide explains the steps, the delivery details to check and how a handwritten note differs from adding a name to the abaya itself.

How Do You Send an Abaya as a Gift?

1. Choose an abaya from the open-front abaya collection, then select its size and any available colour options.
2. Add the piece to your bag. The Make It a Gift link in the confirmation popup takes you to the gift section.
3. On the bag page, turn on This Is a Gift and write your message. You have up to 300 characters.
4. Add your name in the From field, leave it blank or select Stay Anonymous to leave your name off the note.
5. Choose Me or Someone Else under Delivered To. Continue through the bag's Check Out button.
6. At checkout, enter the intended recipient's name and delivery address and review them before placing your order.

Use Add to Cart when you want a gift note. Buy It Now takes you directly to checkout and skips the bag page where the note is entered. If you have already reached checkout without adding it, return to the bag and complete the gift section first.

What Does the Complimentary Gift Option Include?

We write your message by hand. The note is complimentary, and every abaya is wrapped whether or not you select the gift option. There are no prices or invoice inside the parcel. You do not need to order a separate wrapping service to send an abaya as a gift.

The note belongs to the order as a whole. If you are buying several pieces for different people, contact the atelier before ordering to discuss what you need. The gift panel provides one message and one delivery choice for the order, so it should not be used to request several separate deliveries.

Can You Send the Gift Without Your Name?

Yes. Select Stay Anonymous and your name will be left off the handwritten note. If you previously filled in the From field, the anonymous option removes that signature. Read the message itself too: a name or identifying detail typed into your message would still be part of your words.

This option controls the signature on the gift note. It does not remove the delivery information needed to fulfil the order. Use the recipient's correct details at checkout so the parcel can reach them.

Can the Parcel Go Directly to Her?

You can choose Someone Else in the gift panel and enter her name and address as the delivery address at checkout. Choosing Someone Else does not fill in an address for you. Check the building, apartment or villa details and contact information carefully, particularly if you normally order to your own home.

If you would like to give the gift in person, choose Me and use your own delivery address. Delivery within the UAE is complimentary. For international delivery, review the destination, shipping charge and applicable customs information on the shipping page before ordering.

How Do You Choose the Size for Someone Else?

Start with the Size Guide. Height helps you choose the length, but it is still worth checking the measurements rather than assuming her usual clothing size will be right. If the gift is a surprise and you are uncertain, ask the atelier for help before placing the order.

Made to Measure is available without an additional charge, but it needs accurate measurements. Do not guess them to preserve a surprise. Is a Gift Note the Same as Personalisation?

They are separate choices. The complimentary note carries your message on a card. Abaya personalisation adds a one-word name or initials to the garment, stitched by hand, for the fee shown on the product page. You can choose either service or use both together.

When Should You Place a Gift Order?

Each abaya is made to order in Dubai. Allow 5 to 10 days for preparation, with delivery time added afterwards. A birthday or celebration date is not a delivery booking. If timing matters, contact the atelier before ordering to check what is possible for the destination.

Before checking out, review the size, selected colour, spelling of any stitched name, handwritten message and delivery address. Those few checks help make sure the gift arrives with the details you intended.
